Women's Track & Field Caps Busy Week at NYC Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Haverford College women's indoor track & field team was back in action for the second straight day as the Fords competed at the NYC Invitational on Friday afternoon. Haverford had numerous individuals turn in personal best times throughout the afternoon.

The Fords big scoring event came in the 3,000 meters where three individuals finished among the top seven. Hannah Doll was third overall in that event with her new personal best time of 10:33.60. Griffin Kaulbach placed sixth overall with a time of 10:39.36 while Natalia Cordon finished right behind her with a new PR of 10:42.99. Cate Tomson also contested the 3,000 meters, placing 22nd overall in the field with her personal best (11:18.19).

Haverford turned in three more personal bests during the mile, led by Jolie Jaycobs' 18th place showing in a time of 5:21.62. Sheena Dwyer-McNulty was two spots behind her with a mark of 5:23.78 in her first collegiate race at this distance. Izzy Miller (5:24.95) and Mckenna Krall (5:41.00) also posted new careers bests with 22nd and 36th place finishes, respectively.

Lauren Tanel's personal best time of 2:31.86 placed her 29th in the 800 meters to highlight Haverford's entrants in that race. Amalia Axinn (2:33.08), Sophie Schleifer (2:43.40), and Annie Connolly-Sporing (2:46.56) also contested that event.

First-year Jahsaiah Moses led the Fords in both the 200 meter and 400 meter dashes with times of 27.60 seconds and 1:02.56. Her best finish was a 20th place time in the 400 meters. Jasmine Reed ran those same two events, recording a personal best time of 1:03.23 in the 400 meters to place 24th overall. That finish went along with her time of 28.28 seconds during the 200 meter dash. Marisa Antinori joined her teammates in the 200 meters (28.93 seconds) and was Haverford's lone entrant in the 60 meter dash where she finished in 8.71 seconds.

With teammates competing at yesterday's Haverford Quad Meet, Unique Tuberville represented the Haverford throwers with a 20th place distance in the shot put. Her best throw measured 9.53 meters (31'-3.25"). The school record holder in the hammer throw, Tuberville placed 15th in that event on Friday with her first throw counting for a distance of 10.98 meters (36'-0.25")

Women's track & field will head north once against next Saturday, February 8 as the Fords are slated to take part in the Tufts Cupid Challenge in Medford, Massachusetts. Events that day are slated to get underway at 10 a.m.
