A 1981 graduate of Haverford College, Doug Mason began coaching as his alma mater in 1989 as an assistant for the men's track & field team. In 1995, Mason became the assistant coach for the Fords' women's track & field squad.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association indoor track & field Mideast Region Assistant Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2010, Mason has helped the Fords win six Centennial Conference indoor track & field championships, including five straight from 2006-10.
