HAVERFORD, Pa. – Nora Weathers is set to make her NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship debut as accepted entries for the Division III Championships have been announced. Weathers qualified for the 1,500 meters with a school record time of 4:30.18 during her Centennial Conference Championship winning performance. She will enter the NCAA Championship as the fifth seed in her field.

Weathers begins her NCAA Championship pursuit on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. The NCAA Championship final in the 1,500 meters will be run Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The 1,500 meter trials feature 22 qualifiers. Those individuals will be broken up into two qualifying heats. The top four times from each of the two heats, plus the next four times from the remaining runners will advance to make up the 12 individuals that will run for the NCAA Championship.

The 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Canton, New York. St. Lawrence University will serve as the official host of the championship meet that will run Thursday through Saturday.

The school record holder by over four seconds in the event, Weathers is no stranger to the NCAA Track Championships as she qualified in the indoor mile during the winter. The Fords' junior went on to place 11th in the field during that championship meet.

Weathers will be the fifth different individual in program history to qualify for the event. The most recent individual in Haverford history to advance to the NCAA 1,500 meter championships was Annick Lamar '08 during the 2006 season. The previous school record holder in the event before Weathers, Lamar placed 13th in the heats during her sophomore championship. Haverford has been represented in the 1,500 meter finals three times as Danielle Wolfrom '94 (6th in 1993), Meredith Unger '97 (4th in 1996), and Jane Steinmann '04 (9th in 2004) all accomplished this feat.

The top eight finishers in each event will earn All-America distinction. Weathers will be looking to join Wolfrom and Unger in that club of 1,500 meter All-Americans. As a program, the women's track & field team has 15 All-American performances to its credit during the outdoor track & field season.
