Two Scoring Performances for Women's Track Friday at Centennial Championship

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team started the Centennial Conference Championship with a pair of events during the first day of championship competition. From those events, the Fords got two scoring performances in the 10,000 meters and currently sit fifth in the team standings with the vast majority of the points still up for grabs.

MaryKate Cavanaugh finished fourth overall in the 10,000 meters and scored five points for the Fords on day one. She completed the distance in a time of 38:38.29. Sarah Wade added two points to Haverford's total with a seventh place showing. Wade crossed the line in a time of 40:12.34.

Grace Mathis also competed in the pole vault for Haverford on day one. Mathis cleared 2.84 meters on her final attempt at the height. That final clearance placed her 12th in the field.

Haverford's action on the women's side will get underway tomorrow with the steeplechase that is set to begin at 12 p.m.
