Women's Track & Field Chases PRs at Mideast Regional Last Chance

CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College women's track & field team tried to chase down final qualifying spots to the NCAA Championship on Thursday with the running of the Mideast Regional Meet that was hosted by Widener.

The Fords got a first place showing from Nora Weathers in the 1500 meters. Weathers crossed the line in a time of 4:34.60. Her time currently ranks 29th in Division III this season. The reigning All-American will need seven runners to elect not to participate in the upcoming national championship for that event to repeat those honors this spring as the top 22 declared times qualify to the Division III outdoor championship.

Katie Sullivan placed second overall in the 800 meters. She crossed the line in a time of 2:16.09. Using her best time from the spring of 2:15.22, Sullivan finishes the year ranked 58th in division III.

Haverford will wait through the weekend for the declared entrants to the Division III Championship meet. If Weathers is selected to participate, her national meet would be run from May 26 through May 28 in Waverly, Iowa.
