CHESTER, Pa. – Nicole Giannetti won the 1,500 meters to highlight a successful day at Widener's Chester Quarry Classic for the Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team on Saturday.

Giannetti won the 1,500 meter race in a time of 4:44.61. Her time was nearly two seconds faster than the runner-up from Swarthmore. Amelia Keyser-Gibson also earned a top 10 finish in this event as she placed sixth with a time of 4:51.28. In the middle distance, Katie Sullivan just missed her personal best in the 800 meters, placing fourth in a time of 2:15.28. However, that time is still the fastest in the conference for the defending champion in that event and currently ranks 23rd nationally. Sophie Drew just missed a top 10 finish in the 800 meters as she crossed the finish at the 2:23.81 mark.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Taylor Murphy earned a runner-up finish as she crossed the line in 15.51 seconds. Murphy also placed 12th in the 100 meters with a time of 13.03 seconds while teammate Marisa Antinori was 18th in that event with a time of 13.39 seconds. Kerry Quigley added a 23rd place finish in the 200 meter dash (28.95 seconds), while Grace Pindzola was 12th in the 400 meters on Saturday (1:05.71).

Tess Oberholtzer joined Antinori, Murphy, and Quigley on the Fords' 4x100 relay team that placed fourth with a time of 50.98 seconds. Haverford's 4x400 relay of Oberholtzer, Drew, Sullivan, and Murphy crossed in eighth place with a time of 4:14.05.

The field events also featured many other top 10 performances from Haverford athletes. Claire Sargent was third in the shot put with a mark of 11.93 meters. She also placed eighth in the discus (31.55 meters) and 12th in the hammer (33.93 meters). Emily Anderson led the Fords with a sixth place throw in discus (33.27 meters). She placed 11th in shot put and javelin, while finishing 17th in hammer. Unique Tuberville was 12th in the discus while also earning 15th place showings in the shot put and hammer.

Elizabeth Reikowski added a top 10 finish in the triple jump as she was ninth overall with her best leap being measured at 10.33 meters. Mathis added an 11th place showing in that event with a mark of 9.97 meters. Reikowski also led the Fords' long jumpers with her best leap of 4.79 meters placing her 11th.

Women's outdoor track & field will be back at Widener next Friday and Saturday for the Widener Invitational. The Fords will also send some individuals to Princeton's Distance Night next Friday.
