BALTIMORE – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team wrapped up the Centennial Conference Championships with a trio of individual gold medals on Sunday. Katie Sullivan (1,500 meters), Taylor Murphy (100 meter hurdles), and Claire Sargent (shot put) all won event titles to cap a strong final day. As a team, the Fords placed fifth with a total of 84 points over the three-day meet.

Sargent won the shot put with a school record toss of 12.46 meters. In doing so, she eclipsed the previous record set by Jackie Freund '10. Sargent's best throw on Sunday was over 11 inches further than her previous outdoor best. She is the third Haverford outdoor champion in shot put and the first since Freund's title in 2010. The Fords' junior also won the indoor shot put title during the 2016 season.

Sullivan won her rematch against Johns Hopkins' Felicia Koerner in the 1,500 meters after these two battled for the mile title on the indoor track. Sullivan crossed the line in a time of 4:39.74. She is Haverford's eighth outdoor champion in the 1,500 meters and first since Nora Weathers '16 during the 2015 season. Sullivan also placed third in the 800 meters (2:19.50) and is now a four-time conference champion in track & field, earning 10 all-conference honors between the three running seasons.

Murphy won the 100 meter hurdles for Haverford in a time of 15.57 seconds after also winning the preliminary heats. Haverford has now won this event seven times in 24 outdoor championships. A runner-up in this event a year ago, Murphy is now a three-time conference champion. She has a total of six All-Centennial Conference accolades after two seasons of track & field. She also placed  fifth in the 200 meters on Sunday with a time of 26.17 seconds, while teammate Tess Oberholtzer was fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.48 seconds.

Elizabeth Reikowski claimed the third All-Centennial Conference honor of her decorated triple jump career. The senior captain placed third in her specialty event with a leap of 10.78 meters to earn her first outdoor recognition at the conference level. Grace Mathis placed eighth in that same event with her best leap being measured at 10.29 meters.

Haverford also scored in both of the relays on Sunday as the 4x100 meter relay placed fifth with a time of 51.29 seconds. That team consisted of Marisa Antinori, Murphy, Oberholtzer, and Kerry Quigley. Antinori, Murphy, and Quigley teamed with Sullivan on the 4x400 meter relay that placed eighth in a time of 4:17.66.

With the conclusion of the conference championships, the Fords have a pair of last chance meets lined up to qualify individuals to the NCAA Championships. Swarthmore (May 15) and Widener (May 17-18) will both host final qualifying meets in just over a week's time.
