Tuberville, Wade Score for Women's Track & Field on Friday at CC Championship

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field started the Centennial Conference Championships out with a pair of scoring performances on Friday night.

Unique Tuberville got Haverford's first points of the meet as she was fifth overall in the hammer throw with her best toss being measured at 34.95 meters. Tuberville's place marked a three spot improvement from her being ranked eighth in the conference coming into the meet.

Haverford also got a scoring performance from senior Sarah Wade in the 10,000 meter race as the senior covered that distance in a time of 41:06.26 in her first time running that event this spring. MaryKate Cavanaugh finished just one spot out of a scoring position as she was ninth, crossing the line with a time of 42:32.42. Angie Petrichenko was right behind her teammate in 10th place as she finished in 42:42.63.

The 2018 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships will continue through Sunday. The Fords will be back on the track Saturday with the team's first event being the steeplechase which is scheduled to go off at 12 p.m. noon.
