HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's track & field team has been named a 2017-18 All-Academic Team as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). This marks the 12th time in the past 13 seasons the Fords have earned this honor since the association combined the indoor and outdoor season into one award.

Haverford was one of the women's teams across NCAA Division III that earned a team GPA of 3.10 or higher. Leading the way in academic honors is nothing new to the Fords as they had 18 student-athletes honored on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll during both the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons.

The award also marks one final accolade in the decorated careers of graduated seniors Nicole Giannetti, Amelia Keyser-Gibson, and Katie Sullivan as each of them garnered scholar-athlete status. To qualify for this honor, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30. The student-athlete must also have competed in either the indoor or outdoor NCAA track championships or finished a season ranked in the top 50 nationally in an individual event or top 35 in a relay event.

Katie Sullivan earned scholar athlete recognition for the third time in her collegiate career. Haverford's Varsity Cup co-recipient, she advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with the eighth fastest 1,500 meter time this year. She caps her career as a two-time All-American, five-time Centennial Conference Champion, and a 14 time all-conference honoree across all three running seasons.

Amelia Keyser-Gibson was named a scholar athlete for the second time in her career. She received this honor for a number events as she ranked 24th nationally in the indoor 5,000 meters, 34th in the indoor mile, and 39th in the outdoor 5,000 meters. An All-American on Haverford's DMR when she earned her first scholar athlete recognition, Keyser-Gibson was a three-time Centennial Conference Champion and seven-time all-conference nominee during her career.

Nicole Giannetti earned this award for the second straight season. She ranked 24th nationally in the indoor 5,000 meters and 34th in the indoor mile. The graduated senior earned her first track scholar athlete award when she qualified to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the steeplechase during her junior season. Giannetti was a seven-time All-Centennial Conference selection during her career and was a member of the Fords' Centennial Conference-winning DMR in 2016.
