Volleyball sweeps past Dickinson and Lycoming at Crusader Classic

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Haverford College volleyball team rolled past Dickinson College and Lycoming College by identical 3-0 scores on Saturday during the opening day of action of the Crusader Classic hosted by Susquehanna University.

The Fords (4-2) began the day by making quick work of Dickinson (2-6) in a three-set victory (25-15, 25-23, 25-14). Sophomores Keri Godbe and Nina Mutty paced the attack with 14 kills and 11 kills, respectively.

Sophomore Olivia Walsh chipped in with 20 assists while freshman Abby Keller added 17.

A team-wide defensive effort saw Sarah Brody (12), Godbe (11) and Mutty (10) all register double figures in digs.

Laura Silverman led the Red Devils with eight kills while Jenn Morrissey took match-high honors with 23 assists.

Haverford completed the undefeated day by sweeping past Lycoming (25-18, 25-22, 25-22).

Sophomore Meg O'Day tallied 17 kills as both Walsh (22) and Keller (15) once again reached double digits in assists.

Brody was again active on defense with 12 digs.

Bethany Richardson led the Warriors (4-3) with 11 kills.

The Fords get right back into action on Sunday as they conclude play at the Crusader Classic with matches against Morrisville State College (10 a.m.) and Misericordia University (noon).
