Volleyball finishes perfect weekend at Crusader Classic

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Haverford College volleyball team closed out an undefeated weekend with 3-0 wins over both Morrisville State College and Misericorida University on the final day of the Susquehanna University Crusader Classic.

Claiming a share of this year's tournament title, the Fords (6-2) finished the weekend with a perfect 4-0 record including four three-game sweeps. Host Susquehanna also went undefeated over the course of the three-day invitational.

Haverford kept Morrisville (0-6) winless on the season with the help of another stellar effort from Keri Godbe, who led the way with 14 kills. Olivia Walsh registered double digits in assists for the third straight match with 14.

Sarah Brody and Nina Mutty shared team-high honors in digs with nine. Mutty also added four service aces as the Fords made quick work of the Mustangs (25-11, 25-18, 25-7).

Haverford capped the perfect weekend with a 3-0 victory (25-17, 25-8, 25-21) over Misericordia (3-5).

Godbe and Mutty paced the offense in kills with 14 and 10, respectively. Walsh chipped in with 19 assists while Abby Keller added 13. Meg O'Day contributed nine kills and four service aces.

A team-wide effort on defense saw Godbe (14), Brody (12) and Mutty (10) all reach double figures in digs.

Mutty and O'Day were named to the all-tournament team for their impressive play throughout the weekend.

The Fords return to action on Saturday when they open Centennial Conference play with a 1 p.m. matchup against Dickinson College at Gooding Arena.
