WESTMINSTER, Md. - Sophomore Keri Godbe delivered her sixth straight double-double performance with 20 kills and 16 digs but it wasn't enough as the Haverford College volleyball team fell 3-1 to host McDaniel College in Centennial Conference action on Thursday night.

After the Green Terror (16-5, 5-2 CC) edged the Fords (15-7, 2-4) in the opening set with a 25-23 victory, Haverford rallied back to tie the match with a 25-20 win in set two. McDaniel looked to close out the match after a 25-19 victory in the third set but the Fords refused to go away quietly.

A four-point lead (17-13) by the hosts in the fourth set precipitated a Haverford timeout that ignited the Fords' attack. Haverford's offense tallied nine of the next 11 points to gain a three-point advantage (22-19) and force the Green Terror to burn a time out of their own. The fourth set was far from finished as both squads continued to battle and the scoreboard displayed six ties over the remainder of play. Looking to extend the match, Haverford fought off two set points before McDaniel hung on for the match-clinching 30-28 victory.

Godbe, the reigning conference player of the week, has now reached the 20-kill mark in six consecutive contests. Also tallying a double-double on the night was sophomore Nina Mutty who contributed 12 kills and 19 digs.

Freshman Elena Garcia came through with one of her best performances of the season as she registered a career-high 12 kills to go along with two block assists.

Sophomore Olivia Walsh and freshman Abby Keller each topped the 20-assist mark with 27 and 21, respectively.

Junior Madison Fuelling (pictured) led the defensive effort with a season-high 24 digs while classmate Sarah Brody also reached double figures (11).

Sophomore Kloe Martin played a big part in the Green Terror's victory with 20 kills and 26 digs. Genna Weger topped all players with 33 digs.

The Fords get right back into action on Friday when they host defending conference champion Johns Hopkins University at Gooding Arena at 7 p.m.
