Volleyball Falls to Cabrini 3-0

RADNOR, Pa. – The Haverford College volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss (19-25, 20-25, 23-25) to the Cabrini College Cavaliers on Wednesday at the Nerney Field House.

The Fords fell behind by as many as seven points in the first set before tying the score at 18. The Cavaliers responded by ending the set on a 7-1 run to score the set win.

Haverford jumped out to a 10-4 advantage in the second set, however Cabrini rallied to tie the score at 16. Once again, the Cavaliers ended the set with a flurry, scoring nine of the final 13 points to give themselves a 2-0 set lead in the match.

Head coach Michele Benoit's squad enjoyed another early lead, leading 14-8 in set three. The Fords held Cabrini at bay early before the home team tied the set at 22. The Cavaliers went on to win the third set and take the match.

For the 21st straight match, junior Meg O'Day reached double-digit kills (13). Junior Olivia Walsh led the team with 12 assists while freshman Zoe Wong had 11. The Fords had three players, juniors Keri Godbe (14), Nina Mutty (13) and Jeanna Kenney (12), have at least ten digs in the loss.

The Fords (5-6) head on the road Saturday as they take on conference rival Dickinson and non-conference foe Messiah College. The match vs. Dickinson takes place at 1 p.m. and the Messiah match will start at 6 p.m.
