Volleyball Upends Widener 3-1

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Haverford College volleyball team began its Eastern University quad match with a 3-1 win over the Widener Pride on Friday.

The Pride took the first stanza 27-25, but the Fords came back to take the next three sets 25-19, 25-18 and 25-14 to win the match.

Junior Keri Godbe led the Fords with 18 kills while freshman Zoe Wong and junior Olivia Walsh each had 16 assists in the win. 

It's the second time this season that Haverford defeated Widener as the Fords beat the Pride 3-0 on Aug. 30.

Head coach Michele Benoit's squad improved to 9-6 on the season while Widener fell to 1-13. Haverford will take on #14 Eastern and Salisbury tomorrow. The Eastern match is scheduled for 10 am while the Salisbury match will at 12 pm.
