CC Preseason Poll | CC Preseason Guide

HAVERFORD, Pa. – After hosting the Centennial Conference Tournament last season, the coaches in the conference expect the Haverford College volleyball team to do the same in 2015. The Fords received four first place votes in the preseason coaches' poll and finished with 91 voting points, the most in the conference. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Muhlenberg also had four first place votes, but placed second with 88 voting points. With two first place tallies, Swarthmore was third (79 voting points), while the defending conference champion, Franklin and Marshall finished just one point behind (78 voting points). Johns Hopkins had the other first place vote and came in fifth (67 points) while the rest of poll was McDaniel, Gettysburg, Washington College, Dickinson, Ursinus and Bryn Mawr.

The volleyball team lost just three players from a 2014 squad that won 22 matches and went to the NCAA regional semifinals for the first time since 2009. Senior Meg O'Day was selected to the AVCA All-American third team, AVCA All-Regional, Newsport News Regional All-Tournament team and was just the fifth player in program history to win Centennial Conference Player of the Year. Senior Keri Godbe was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team and the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area team.

Head coach Michele Benoit's team will travel to Cabrini (Sept. 1) to begin the season before hosting CCNY and Stevenson in the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational (Sept. 5-6).
