HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College volleyball program welcomed back its alumnae prior to the start of the 2016 regular season, with a match and postgame tailgate on Saturday afternoon at the Gooding '84 Arena.
Playing in a full best three-of-five contest, The current Fords squad defeated the alumni in a friendly but competitive match by a final tally of 3-1. The matchup with the alumnae gave a large freshman class a chance for some game action after a comprehensive preseason practice slate.
The alumnae squad consisted of Jenine Abbassi '12, Caitlyn Tranquillo '12, Olivia Coburn-Flynn '13, Emily Mills '13, Jordan Scolaro '13, Sarah Brody '15, Keri Godbe '16, Jeanna Kenney '16 and Sara Rennert '16.
Head coach Drew Hargrave's squad will travel to Immaculata (Sept. 1) to begin the season before hosting Marymount, MIT, Heidelberg and Delaware Valley in the Haverford Invitational on Sept. 3-4 at Gooding '84 Arena.
