Fords take top two spots at Bryn Mawr Invitational

MEDIA, Pa. - Senior Sheera Rosenbaum finished first to lead a strong effort by the Haverford College women's cross country team Saturday morning as it opened the season at the Bryn Mawr Invitational held at Rose Tree Park.

Posting a time of 20 minutes, 44.20 seconds, Rosenbaum finished just ahead of classmate Cara Keifer (21:04.25) in the 5,000 meter race. Also running well and cracking the top 10 of the field of 49 runners was junior Bridget Freeley with a time of 22:12.03.

Dorothea Letner registered a strong start to her senior season as she finished in 23:20.53 which was good for 18th place.

Junior Helen Farley and sophomore Nina Allan finished 25th and 28th, respectively.

The Fords, ranked 26th in the the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III 2012 national preseason poll, host the Alumnae Open on Sept. 8 before getting back into action at the Main Line Invitational on Sept. 20.
