Women's Cross Country Ranked No. 25 in Latest Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's cross country program came in at No. 25 in the latest weekly release of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll. The Fords received 73 voting points in the latest poll.

Haverford competed in the Brown Race of the Paul Short Invitational this past weekend. The Fords placed four runners among the top 100 finishers in the field. Nora Weathers finished as the Fords' top runner with a time of 22:41 in the 6,000-meter race. Maggie Heffernan, Kelley Riffenburgh and Charlotte Lellman were also in the top 100 during this past weekend's race.

In the regional rankings, the Fords held at No. 3 but have moved ahead of Dickinson in the latest release. Elizabethtown College has moved up to the No. 2 slot in the regional rankings, while Johns Hopkins continues its place at the top of the region and the national polls.

In the national poll, Johns Hopkins continues to garner all eight first-place votes. Elizabethtown moved up three spots to No. 21 in the latest rankings after climbing to No. 2 in the Mideast Region. Dickinson is the third Centennial Conference team represented in the poll as it comes in at No. 28 in the national poll this week.

Women's cross country will have the upcoming weekend completely away from competition. Haverford will jump back into competition on Saturday, October 18 at the Princeton Invitational. That race will get underway at 10 a.m.
