Women's Cross Country Holds at No. 26 in National Rankings

USTFCCCA Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Just one meet remains before the Haverford College women's cross country team will host the Centennial Conference Championship during the first weekend of November. The Fords will enter that final meet of the regular season ranked No. 26 in the latest US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll. That slot is the same spot the Fords occupied in last week's poll.

The Fords held in the rankings after a 23rd place finish at the Princeton Invitational last weekend. Nora Weathers was the Fords' top finisher in that race as she placed 85th in the field of 278 with a time of 23:03. During that true team performance, the Fords had a spread of just 55 seconds among their top five finishers.

The final competition before the conference championship will be held this Friday as the Fords take part in the Haverford Invitational. The women's race will start at 4:30 p.m. and be followed by the men's race at approximately 5 p.m. Haverford will also be home on the following weekend as the Centennial Conference Championship comes to the Alumni Cross Country Course.

Around the conference, Johns Hopkins continues to garner all eight first-place votes and continues its reign atop the national rankings. Mideast foe Elizabethtown is up to No. 19 in the latest release, while Dickinson is also held its ranking in this week's poll at No. 28. On the outside looking in, Swarthmore is receiving 15 votes in the latest poll which ranks the top 35.
