HAVERFORD, Pa. – Maggie Heffernan has been named the Centennial Conference women's cross country runner of the week as announced by conference officials. The award is the first of Heffernan's career.
In the Fords' final race before the Centennial Conference Championships this Saturday, Heffernan placed 10th overall in a field of 94 runners at the Haverford Invitational. Heffernan finished the three-mile course in a time of 18:34.90. That mark was just eight seconds off her previous personal best which she set at this same race last season. No team scores were kept at this meet.
Heffernan and the rest of her teammates will now turn their attention to this week's Centennial Conference Championship. That women's race is scheduled to begin at noon. The men's race will start the day with an 11 a.m. start time. A live web stream of the finish line will also be available for that race.
