Women's Cross Country Welcomes Back Alumnae

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's cross country program welcomed 10 former athletes back to campus Saturday as the Fords hosted their annual alumnae meet.

A total of 18 runners competed between the varsity and alumnae teams. The current varsity team captured the top two finishers as Nora Weathers won the three-mile race in a time of 18:23. Amelia Keyser-Gibson was just nine seconds back of her teammate with a second place finish and a time of 18:32.

Not long after the first two finishers, the alumnae team saw its first finishers cross the line and end up with the third, fourth and fifth place positions. Charlotte Lellman '15 was the top alumnae finisher with a time of 18:34 for third place overall. Kelley Riffenburgh '15 and Flora Berklein '14 finished fourth and fifth with times of 18:43 and 18:44.

Other alumnae returning to compete in the annual race included Sharon Warner '12, Katie Greifeld '15, Cara Keifer '13, Annick Lamar '08, Sedona Murphy '15, Alice Vienneau '12, and Chelsea Thorsheim '14.

The varsity squad returns to action next Saturday, September 12 for the Johns Hopkins Invitational. The course, located in Owings Mill, Md., will be the site of the 2015 Centennial Conference Championship.
