Women's Cross Country Places 15th at Paul Short Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In a field that featured several nationally-ranked Division III teams, along with Division I and II entrants, the No. 17 Haverford College women's cross country team placed 15th out of 42 teams in the Brown Race of the Paul Short Invitational.

For the second straight race, Katie Sullivan led the Fords to the finish line as she placed 11th in the field of 373 entrants with a time of 21:25. Nicole Giannetti was the second Haverford runner across the line as she placed 69th and scored 67 points with a time of 22:25.

Haverford's third through fifth runners all came across the line within a 16 second span. Abigail Doroshow was the first of that group as she placed 126th with a time of 22:54. Amelia Keyser-Gibson placed 149th with a time of 23:05 while MaryKate Cavanaugh was the team's fifth finisher in a time of 23:10 to place her 158th overall in the field.

The final three Haverford runners in the Brown race also came in as a tight pack. Alison Love placed 223rd with a time of 23:51. Sophie Drew was 238th with a time of 24:00 and Mckenna Krall was the team's eighth finisher in a time of 24:09.

The Fords also had nine entrants into the open race of the event. The first Fords' runner across the line in that event was Julia Smith in a time of 24:32. Sarah Wade and Amanda Glavin also broke the 25 minute mark for the Fords.

Women's cross country will return to action next Saturday at the DeSales Invitational. Next weekend's site will be the same course the Fords will see at the NCAA Mideast Regional.
