Women's Cross Country Previews Regional Course at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Running without all but one of its top seven, the Haverford College women's cross country team placed 12th out of 35 teams at the DeSales Invitational. The course gave the Fords a preview of what will be coming as this course will also be the location of the Mideast Regional in November.

Abigail Doroshow led the Fords to the finish line with a time of 23:02. That mark nearly topped her personal best from a week ago and placed her 22nd overall in a field of 255 entrants. Her classmate, Mckenna Krall was the second Haverford runner across the line as she placed 55th with a time of 24:17.

Three other Haverford runners also finished among the top 100. Sarah Wade was 78th overall with a time of 24:45, while Julia Smith also broke the 25 minute mark with a time of 24:53 to place 82nd. Amanda Glavin was also in the top 100 as she crossed the line in 93rd with a time of 25:13.

Allison Hacker (25:42) and Jolie Jaycobs (26:20) rounded out Haverford's runners in the varsity race. The Fords also had three runners compete in the junior varsity race with Liana Alves (26:40) leading the way as she was followed to the finish by Mariana Ramirez (27:21) and Michelle Luu (27:32).

Women's cross country will return its full team to competition next weekend at the Rowan Inter-Regional. That race will be begin at 11 a.m. next Saturday, October 15.
