HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's cross country team moved up two spots to No. 29 in the first regular season poll released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Fords held their position as the fourth ranked team in the region and are now receiving 52 votes in the national poll.

The Mideast Region continues to have four teams ranked nationally with the preseason order yet to change in the early weeks of competition. Johns Hopkins continues its reign at No. 1 nationally with six first-place votes. Another Centennial Conference competitor, Dickinson, is second in the poll and jumped up eight spots to No. 16 nationally. Elizabethtown is the only Mideast team outside of the Centennial Conference to be ranked. The Blue Jays are down four spots to No. 22 this week.

Haverford last competed in the Alumnae Open on Saturday where Nicole Giannetti and Amelia Keyser-Gibson paced the Fords with second and third place finishes. Recent All-America graduate Nora Weathers '16 won the race.

Women's cross country will once again be on the Alumni Cross Country Course this Friday as the team hosts the Main Line Invitational. With several Division I teams attending the always-competitive meet, the women's race is set to go off at 4:45 p.m. with the men to follow at 5:30.
