HAVERFORD, Pa. – Ahead of the first 6,000 meter race of the season, the Haverford College women's cross country team continues to receive votes in the latest national poll released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Fords received 15 voting points in this week's release, the highest total among those teams sitting just outside of the national rankings. During its week away from competition, the Fords held their fifth position in the regional rankings.

The Fords are now set to travel to Lehigh this Saturday for the Paul Short Invitational. The Fords are slated to compete in the White Race, which will be the largest field of the three women's races with 48 teams scheduled to toe the starting line. The field will be a mix of mostly Division II and III programs with 21 Division II schools set to run in the race. That group includes East Stroudsburg who enters the weekend ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region for Division II.

Centennial Conference foes Muhlenberg, Gettysburg, and Ursinus will also line up for the White Race to give the Fords a glimpse of some of the other schools in the conference. Johns Hopkins and Swarthmore will also be at Lehigh this weekend as those two schools are scheduled to run in the Gold and Brown Races, respectively. The Fords will be returning to the Paul Short race for the first time since the 2016 season when the team placed 15th out of 42 teams during the Brown race.

The Fords should be no stranger to strong competition as they are coming off of a fourth place finish at the Main Line Invitational where they competed against Villanova and the University of Pennsylvania while defeating Division I program St. Joseph's.
