Women's Cross Country Places Fifth at Main Line Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's cross country team, a squad receiving votes in the latest USTFCCCA national rankings, placed fifth as a team at the prestigious Main Line Invitational on Friday afternoon. Running on the Alumni Cross Country Course, the Fords finished with a tight pack as the first through eighth-place finishers on the team were separated by less than one minute.

Griffin Kaulbach guided Haverford's lead pack to the finish line as she placed 25th overall on the three-mile course with a personal best time of 18:44.9. Behind her were a pair of first-years who had strong showings in their first Main Line Invitational as Sheena Dwyer-McNulty (18:53.2) and Cate Tomson (18:57.1) placed 30th and 32nd, respectively, while Izzy Miller followed them to the finish with her own personal best time of 18:56.9.

Five more runners cracked the 20-minute mark and placed among the top 50 finishers. Natalia Cordon was Haverford's fifth scoring runner with a career best time of 19:07. Hannah Doll (19:24.7) and Angie Petrichenko (19:32.8) rounded out Fords' top seven. Petrichenko's mark gave the Fords six new personal bests among its top seven runners. Jolie Jaycobs (19:42.1) and Amalia Axinn (19:56.6) also crossed the line in under 20 minutes.

In total, 21 runners for Haverford competed in the Main Line Invitational. Haverford finished the day with 13 of those runners having career days on the three-mile course. That group included Mariana Ramirez (20:07.6) and Ellie Keating (20:12.6) who each broke the 21-minute mark. Annie Connolly-Sporing (21:15.8) and Eva White (21:52.7) both posted huge PRs as each bested their previous times by over a full minute. Maggie Doubman (21:03.6), Annemarie Wood (22:49.1), and Rhea Chandran (23:01.0) also improved on previous bests.

Women's cross country will now have two weeks to prepare for Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational which is set for Saturday, October 5. That race is set to go off at 10 a.m.
