GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Running on the same course in which it will contest the 2019 Centennial Conference Championship in two weeks, the Haverford College women's cross country team turned in a strong performance Saturday at the Gettysburg Invitational. The Fords placed third overall as a team (70 points), trailing only No. 26 Allegheny by 20 points and Division I Saint Francis by one single placement.

Two-time NCAA qualifier Hannah Doll is one of several Fords who appear to be peaking just before the postseason as she placed fifth overall in the field of 254 runners with a time of 23:07.2. Running on the challenging course, Haverford saw each of its top four finishers crack the 24-minute mark and finish among the top 20 individuals. The Fords' spread was once again very tight as Haverford's first through fifth runners were separated by less than one minute.

Sheena Dwyer-McNulty (23:44.0), Izzy Miller (23:49.0), and Cate Tomson (23:54.6) all came to the line in quick succession, placing 14th, 16th, and 18th overall. It wasn't much longer before the top seven were all across the line as Haverford swept the 25th through 27th finishers to round out its scorers. Jolie Jaycobs (24:06.5), Angie Petrichenko (24:08.9), and Natalia Cordon (24:11.8) filled those slots. Cordon's time was a personal best at the 6,000 meter distance.

Amalia Axinn (24:46.1) and Mckenna Krall (24:58.3) each broke the 25-minute mark while Mariana Ramirez (25:04.1) and Ellie Keating (25:18.7) each came in under 26 minutes. Ramirez's time was also a personal best at the 6,000 meter distance.

Haverford entered 20 runners in total and each of those finishers ranked among the top 200 to showcase the team's depth. Lauren Tanel (26:10.7) cracked the top 100 while Annie Connolly-Sporing (26:18.7) and Eva White (26:55.4) finished under 27 minutes. White's time was a third PR for the Fords on the afternoon. Maggie Doubman (27:08.1), Sophie Schleifer (27:24.6), Zoe Arditi (27:49.6), Marly Banatte (28:35.0), Annemarie Wood (29:10.6), and Rhea Chandran (29:36.6) also competed for the Fords on Saturday.

Women's cross country will have a meet this upcoming week as the Fords are slated to host the Haverford Invitational this Friday, October 25 with the women's race to get underway at 4:15 p.m. on the Alumni Cross Country Course. The Fords will return to Gettysburg in two weeks to run this same course during the conference championship which will take place on Saturday, November 2.
