Haverford Ranked 39th in Initial Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup Standings

Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College Athletic Department is ranked 39th across all of Division III in the first fall release of the 2019-20 Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings. With only four sports being counted to date, the Fords have already accumulated 77 points. Five Centennial Conference schools have registered points in the initial release.

Men's cross country was the high scorer for the Fords as the team's 27th place finish at the NCAA Championships garnered 47 points. The men's cross country team has now made 27 consecutive appearances at the NCAA Championships. First-year Ryan Kredell led a young Haverford contingent to the finish line with a 45th place individual showing. Kredell's finish made him Haverford's highest first-year place winner since Division III Hall of Famer Karl Paranya '97 crossed the line in the 39th position during his rookie campaign.

Women's cross country was also credited with a 33rd place finish after a top five team finish at the NCAA Mideast Regional. That performance from the Fords earned them 30 more points in the fall standings. Haverford earned that finish after all seven of its entrants in the regional ran a personal best time, highlighted by Griffin Kaulbach, Hannah Doll, and Sheena Dwyer-McNulty each earning All-Mideast Region accolades. The Fords were also a young team on the women's side as all seven of their regional participants will return to the team next fall.

In the upcoming fall releases, Haverford's point total will be bolstered as the women's soccer team was not counted in the initial update as that NCAA Tournament is still ongoing. The Fords advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history after earning an at-large bid to the national tournament this fall. The Fords drew undefeated Randolph-Macon in the opening round and outshot the Yellow Jackets by a 16-14 margin, but ultimately fell by a 2-0 final in that first round battle.
