Melynda Link was hired as the Director of Athletic Facilities and Game Day Operations in June of 2018. In this position, Link is responsible for overseeing the operation of Haverford College’s athletic facilities which includes maintenance and scheduling. She will also be directly responsible for all game day management procedures including hiring and supervising student workers, communicating with visiting teams and officials, and serving as a game day administrator.

In addition to her traditional responsibilities, Link actively pursues numerous professional development opportunities and brings that training back to the Haverford College Athletic Department staff and student-athletes. She has attended the Women Leaders in College Sports National Convention, Women Leaders in College Sports Leadership Symposium, Division III LGBTQ OneTeam Facilitator Program, and joined the GameDay the DIII Way Ambassador Program.

“Haverford is such a unique community with its blend of first-class academics and athletics and I'm looking forward to getting to work,” said Link at the time of her hiring.

Link came to Haverford after spending the previous two years at La Salle University where she started as the Graduate Assistant for Athletic Facilities and Operations before earning the promotion to Assistant Manager of Athletic Facilities and Operations in February 2018. Link has familiarity with Haverford, having spent the 2016 spring semester serving as the Athletic Facilities and Game Operations intern at the College.

"We are pleased to have Melynda return to Haverford and join our athletic team," said Smith. "Her experience since interning at Haverford has provided her with a strong foundation to further improve our athletic operations to deliver the best possible student-athlete experience."

During her time at La Salle, Link scheduled and supervised the event staff, lifeguards, arena attendants, and desk staff. She also assisted with all the game day operations needs of the department for both the indoor and outdoor facilities. Link earned her master's of business administration, with a specialization in management, from La Salle during the spring 2018. While working as an intern at Haverford and completing her undergraduate degree from Temple, Link was responsible for many of the same areas that she will oversee in this position, including game day management, scheduling of team practices, working with Haverford's grounds department, and scheduling outside rentals of the College's facilities.

Link graduated from Temple of the spring of 2016 with a degree in science of sports & recreation management. During her time as an undergraduate, she worked as the head manager for the women's basketball team. Link is also a member of the Women Leaders in College Sports and was recognized with the 2017 Foundation Fund Scholarship.
