Title: Assistant Coach
Previous College: Haverford '17

Jared Deveau ’17 was named Haverford College’s pitching coach in the summer of 2019, replacing Nat Ballenberg ’07 who coached for nine seasons at Haverford College before accepting a minor league developmental coaching position within the Minnesota Twins organization.

Deveau worked under Ballenberg’s guidance during his time with the Haverford College baseball team from 2014-17, serving as a team captain during his senior season. The Fords advanced to the Centennial Conference Tournament during each of Deveau’s four seasons and captured the conference crown during both the 2014 and 2016 campaigns.

“Jared embodies so much of what we have been for a pitching staff,” said Ballenberg. “He is a consistent learner and fierce competitor who is willing to compete with himself to become just a little bit better each day while collaborating with those around him to help them become the best version of themselves.”

A two-way player during his time at Haverford, Deveau became a mainstay in the Fords’ pitching rotation during his final two seasons. He finished his career with a 2.28 ERA while also holding the 13th-best single-season ERA in program history for a team that has had three pitchers drafted. He graduated from Haverford with a degree in economics.
