Dean Myers to Represent The Philippines at 2025 Junior Fencing World Championships

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College first-year men's foilist Dean Myers will represent The Philippines at the 2025 Junior & Cadet Fencing World Championships in Wuxi, China on Thursday morning. Men's foil competition begins April 10, with live results available via Fencing Time Live.

The Junior (U20) men's foil event starts at 8:30 a.m. local time in Wuxi, which is 8:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday evening.

A native of San Francisco, California, Myers brings prior international experience to the strip. He finished 61st at the 2024 Junior World Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, earning a B24 classification, and placed 46th at the 2023 Cadet World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

On the collegiate circuit, Myers recently earned Division III All-America honors from the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) following a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Championships at Drew University.

He was also named a USFCA Division III All-Region selection and went 9-3 in the "A" pool at the MACFA Championships, where Haverford's foil squad claimed the silver medal.
