Centennial Conference Releases Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll

Centennial Conference release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Centennial Conference has released its first preseason poll for the spring sports season as the Haverford College men's lacrosse team was picked for an eighth place finish among the conference's head coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Franklin & Marshall was selected as the preseason favorite with four of the nine first-place votes. Gettysburg received three first-place votes to finish second in the poll while Ursinus and Dickinson both received a first-place vote to round of the top four.

The Fords are coming off of a season in which they defeated a pair of top 10 teams in then-No. 10 Dickinson and then-No. 10 Ursinus. Both of those victories came by identical 12-9 scores and accounted for two of Haverford's three conference wins in the always-challenging Centennial Conference. That conference record tied the Fords for sixth overall in last year's standings.

Haverford returns honorable mention All-Centennial Conference goalie Ethan Donlon who was simply spectacular in the Fords' aforementioned top 10 victories. Sean Mowatt-Larssen returns after leading the team in both goals (28) and points (36) during his rookie season. Blake Brinster, Colby Ferrigno, and Anthony Vizzoni also return as regular starters from last year's team. Haverford returns 15 total players who saw action in at least half of the Fords' contests last season.

Men's lacrosse opens its 2020 schedule this Saturday at home against defending national champion Cabrini. Haverford will host seven of its 15 regular season games on Swan Field. Those home dates include matchups with three of the top four teams (Franklin & Marshall, Dickinson, & Ursinus) in the conference's preseason poll.
