HAVERFORD, Pa. – Three different players scored their first career goals for the Haverford College men's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon as the Fords (9-3-3, 4-2-1 CC) picked up three key points in the conference standings with a 4-0 victory over Ursinus (2-11-1, 0-7 CC).

First years Matthieu Maciejewski and Brett Mozarsky bookended the scoring for the Fords with junior Aditya Dias adding his first career goal during the second half. Haverford's second goal of the game came from Nick Jannelli who now has a team-high 10 goals this season. Another first year, Ryan Sholes, recorded his first two career points with assists on the goals from his fellow classmates.

Haverford dominated the possession and racked up a 19-1 advantage in shots during the contest. Ursinus' only shot of the game came when Justin Molyneaux blasted a shot directly into the Haverford wall on a free kick attempt during the 19th minute of play. Other than setting his defense in a strong position all day, sophomore Michael Iacono went untested during his first collegiate shutout.

The Fords owned a 10-1 advantage in shots during the first half, but it was not until the 40th minute that they could beat Ursinus goalie Brandon Lillian. Lillian finished the match with a total of five saves. Haverford's first of many goals to come followed a set piece played into the box by Sholes. Maciejewski was able to get on the end of that ball and head home the first goal of his career.

Haverford did not need nearly as much time in the second half as Jannelli recorded his 10th goal of the season just 2:22 into the second half. Sykes Cargile helped to put him in position with a cross into the box that traveled just past the goal, but an alert Peter Baroff was able to head that ball back in front of goal to a cutting Jannelli for the finish. Cargile was credited with his second assist of the season while Baroff's helper was his first of the year. Baroff now has five points this season with two goals also to his credit.

Capping a strong showing were two more first-time goal scorers in Dias and Mozarsky. Dias broke down the Ursinus defense all by himself in the 65th minute of play, tallying an unassisted goal in the process. Mozarsky scored his first collegiate goal on a sliding attempt that was played through by Sholes with just 2:33 remaining in regulation time. That final goal capped a second half which saw Haverford take all nine shots of the period and score on three of their five shots on goal.

The Fords had four players finish the contest with multiple shots as Ben Field led the team with four such attempts on Wednesday. Jannelli and Russell Nicholson each had three shots in the Centennial Conference win while Dorian Wirz added a pair of attacks on goal. In total, 10 different players recorded a shot with each of the first-time goal scorers doing so on their only attempts of the match.

Men's soccer will return to action this Saturday with a road trip to Dickinson that will get underway at 4 p.m. The Fords and Red Devils are currently fourth and fifth, respectively, in the Centennial Conference standings after today's action.
