CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 31 Haverford College men's squash team (10-8) dropped its consolation quarterfinal to No. 27 Wesleyan on Saturday morning, as the Cardinals came away with an 8-1 decision at Harvard's Murr Squash Center to conclude the second day of action at the College Squash Association (CSA) Men's Team Championships. Haverford had competitive matches up and down the ladder yet again, with Fitz Dougherty taking its individual win in a sweep.

Dougherty put together a fantastic performance in his blanking of Alex Dreyfus on the fourth flight. Dougherty was in command throughout the first game, taking a straightforward 11-6 win before Dreyfus battled to extra points in the second. Dougherty then stormed forward with an 11-7 win in the third game to give Haverford a hard-fought point to its tally. The junior co-captain now has 39 career wins, seventh most in program history. His .765 career winning percentage is also the best in program history among players with a minimum of 15 wins.

The second flight again proved to be one of the most thrilling spots on the ladder as first year Quinton Crawford continued to show his mettle in some of the most energetic squash of the weekend. John Sutherby came away with a five-game win, but not before Crawford took his opponent to the brink in an 18-16 second game loss. That valiant showing propelled Crawford into consecutive 11-6 and 11-9 wins in the third and fourth frames before Sutherby again needed extra points to squeak by Crawford in the fifth, 12-10.

The bottom half of the lineup saw Keil Reedich take the third game from William Bienstock at the fifth flight and John Collins grab the second game from Andrew Doucette at number six. Khalil Walker took a game off of Scott Ji at the seventh flight, while Nathan Wang also took the second game from Brinton Thomas at the eighth.

Men's Squash will face off with No. 29 St. Lawrence in the consolation playoff of the Conroy Cup at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Fords will be looking to avenge a regular season loss to the Saints, as St. Lawrence edged Haverford at the GIAC Squash Courts in December.
