Men's Tennis Reels In Academic Honors from ITA

TEMPE, Ariz.. - A total of 11 members of the Haverford College men's tennis team were recognized for their academic achievements as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) unveiled its Division III Scholar Athletes earlier this week. The squad was also recognzied with the ITA's All-Academic team award. 

Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2022, 940 Division III Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 125 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

In order to earn the ITA All-Academic Award, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 to receive the honor. The Fords have accomplished that feat in every full season since 2001.

The 11 student-athletes to pick up ITA Scholar-Athlete plaudits were Max Beckwith, Adam Chow, Jason Edmonds, John Finberg, Kirin Eicher, George Jiang, Patrick Kley, Abhinav Nallapareddy, Jackson Trevor, Harrison Weinstock, and Andreas Wingert

To be named a scholar-athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year and be eligible and in good standing with the institution.
