Fords finish 7th at NYU Team Challenge

NEW YORK CITY - Haverford College's men's indoor track & field team placed seventh with 42 points Saturday night at the NYU Team Challenge. Jordan Schilit helped pace the Fords with a career-best time to win the 3,000 meter run.

Schilit crossed the finish in a time of 8 minutes, 23.55 seconds to edge out teammate Christopher Stadler (8:25.51) providing Haverford with the 1-2 finish.

Haverford placed a pair within the top-five of the 800 meter run as Ivo Milic-Strkalj was third and Gebby Keny finished fifth. The other top-five on the day for the Fords came from Michael Riccio who was second in the mile. Riccio's time of 4:19.30 is the 31st-fastest in the nation this winter and just 1.52 seconds off his career best.

Jeffrey Ainsley and David Colletta added top-10 finishes for Haverford. Ainsley was sixth in the 60-meter high hurdles and Colleta was eighth in the 1,000.

Next on the schedule for the Fords is the Haverford Invitational at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday in Alumni Field House.
