Barker Earns Slot on CC Men's Outdoor Track & Field All-Sportsmanship Team

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College men's track & field senior co-captain James Barker has been named a member of the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship team, the conference office announced in a postseason awards release on Wednesday. The team features one student-athlete from each institution that sponsors the respective sport.

Sportsmanship is one of the pillars of NCAA Division III and the Centennial Conference. The Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Teams recognize student-athletes who best exemplify the fundamental values of respect, fairness, civility, honesty, and responsibility both on and off the field or playing surface.

This is the second sportsmanship team honor for the Short Hills, N.J. product, who also picked up the plaudit following the indoor campaign in March. The history major, a Centennial Conference Honor Roll recipient in each season of eligibility for that award, was named a second-team All-Centennial Conference honoree following the 2019 indoor season, as he was part of a 4x800 meter relay squad that finished second, earning silver medals at the conference meet in Lancaster. The 7:59.7 time that squad clocked was the ninth-fastest in program history and just the fifth sub-eight minute showing this decade.

Barker, an Office Fellow at Haverford College's Office of Admissions, also serves as a senior interviewer as well as a Student Admissions Advisory Committee member.
