CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College men's track & field team competed at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier Monday evening on the campus of Widener, looking to take some major strides towards NCAA qualifying times.

In the 1,500 meters, Jamie Moreland was the top Division III finisher with a blazing fast time of 3:47.10, a new personal best for the much-decorated junior from Los Angeles. With results still rolling in from other last-chance meets across the country, the mark, the best in the Centennial Conference this season, figures to put Moreland in strong contention for qualification to next weekend's NCAA Division III Championships.

The mark is currently the 12th-best in the nation. Additionally, the mark represents the 10th-fastest 1,500-meter time in Haverford program history. For each event at the national championship meet, the marks of the top 20 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition.

Matt Katz also competed in the event, as he finished 21st in his final collegiate race, clocking a 4:03.84, while Amos Karlsen also made his final collegiate appearance with a time of 4:04.24 for 22nd place overall.

In the 5,000 meters, junior Ryan Kredell logged a fourth-place finish with a time of 14:34.31, while classmate Aaron Bratt (14:59.96) was the 21st place finisher.

In Tuesday, field events action, Ravi Eaton participated in the long jump for the Fords, logging a mark of 6.19 meters (20 feet, 3.75 inches). The mark was good for a fourth place overall finish in the event.

Haverford will wrap up action at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier on Tuesday with the long jump slated for 2 p.m. Final selections for the national meet in Geneva, Ohio will be announced on Friday, May 20.
