CHESTER, Pa. — The Haverford College men's track & field team competed at the Widener Final Qualifier Meet on Monday afternoon at Leslie Quick Jr. Stadium, offering athletes a final opportunity to secure spots at the upcoming NCAA Championships.

Reza Eshghi led the way with a standout performance in the 1,500 meters, winning the event in 3:44.32 — a personal best and the fourth-fastest time in program history. Eshghi is in a strong position to qualify in the event and is also a heavy contender for the 5,000 meters.

Junior Micah Lachman finished 18th in a personal-best 3:53.92, followed by senior Reed Solomon in 33rd (3:57.37), senior Tommaso Wheeler in 68th (4:22.54), and senior Seawon Park in 70th (4:29.46), all setting new personal records.

In the 800-meter run, freshman Reef Kirchner clocked a time of 2:01.54 to finish 69th overall. Senior Peter LaRochelle delivered a stellar performance in the 5,000 meters, placing fifth with a personal-best time of 14:21.86 — just outside the top 10 in program history. LaRochelle is currently ranked eighth in the nation in the 10,000 meters and is well-positioned for qualification.

Junior Jakob Maiwald finished 28th in 15:06.04, and junior Joseph De Rosa placed 46th with a personal-best 15:35.98. Senior Rowan Shigeno (16:36.47), senior Kieran McDonnell (16:50.93), and sophomore Gopal Patel (16:54.04) rounded out the Fords' efforts in the event.

Seamus Fraser secured a fifth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:23.62. In the field events, senior Nathan Ma leaped 4.82 meters to finish 22nd in the men's long jump.

Haverford will now await the announcement of NCAA qualifiers for the 2025 Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, with action set to take place in Geneva, Ohio. Eshghi and LaRochelle are in strong contention to make the trip to the Buckeye State.
