Women's Cross Country Schedule
HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's and women's cross country teams have announced their 2019 schedules. The men are coming off of a podium fourth-finish at the NCAA Championships last fall while the women's team saw rising junior Hannah Doll advance to the national meet as an individual qualifier. The Fords are set to host three events on the Alumni Cross Country course this fall.
The two teams are each slated to run in five of the same meets throughout the regular season while the women have two additional dates on the 2019 slate. The first of those additional dates will be the Haverford Open on Saturday, August 31. After that opening race, both teams will welcome back their alumni/ae on Saturday, September 7. The women's race gets that day started at 4:45 p.m. while the men hit the starting line at 5:30 p.m.
The second joint home date on the schedule will be the annual Main Line Invitational on Friday, September 20 which welcomes a slew of local talent including the likes of Division I Penn and Villanova. The teams will also host the Haverford Invitational on Friday, October 25 just one week before the championship season gets underway.
Other road trips throughout the regular season will see the teams travel to Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational on Saturday, October 5 and Rowan's Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday, October 25. The 2019 Centennial Conference Championships, which have been won in five straight years and 23 of 26 overall by the men, will take place on Saturday, November 2 at Gettysburg. The women will get a preview of the Gettysburg course on October 19 as its team will be split between Gettysburg and Rowan.
The Mideast Regional will be held at Lehigh University with Muhlenberg College serving as the host institution. That meet is scheduled for Saturday, November 16. Just one week later, the NCAA Championship meet will be held in Louisville, Ky. at Tom Sawyer Park. The men have qualified as a team to the NCAA Championships during each of the last 26 years. They have placed in the top 10 a total of 19 times across their 36 all-time appearances, including 11 times in the past 15 years. The women's team has qualified to the NCAA Championships as a team 17 times while being represented by individuals on 10 other occasions.
