Men's Cross Country Wins Dan Talbot Open

MEDIA, Pa. - The Haverford College men's cross country team won the 8k Dan Talbot Open on Friday evening at Rose Tree Park, placing all five scorers within the top 10 finishers to pull away with the title. Haverford outlasted squads from Rutgers-Camden, Neumann, Gwynedd Mercy, and Immaculata. 

Junior Jack Hunter took the individual event title, crossing the finish line in 28:53. Sophomore Ryan O'Donnell was second in a career-best 29:11.2, while first year Ryan Quenemoen crossed fifth in 30:07. Junior Jack Fanikos finished in sixth (30:15.9), while first year Seamus Flannery notched a seventh place finish in 30:52.

First year Caesar Dai crossed in 18th overall (33:01.3) while first year Michael Franco finished 24th in 34.22.5 to round out the Haverford contingent. 

The 20th-ranked Fords will now return to action at the Paul Short Run on Saturday, October 5. The Lehigh University hosted meet, one of the largest in the nation, will feature a bevy of nationally and regionally ranked teams from throughout the area. Action begins at 9:30 a.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.
