LEESBURG, Fla. – The Haverford College softball team capped its week in Florida with a six-game winning streak after its third consecutive sweep on Friday. The Fords (7-3) once again made the big inning their friend during a 12-3 run-rule victory against Alfred before a seventh inning rally led to a 4-1 win over DeSales.

Haverford scored four in the first, three in the third, five in the fourth, and did not need any at-bats in the fifth during the 12-3 victory against Alfred. Eight different players recorded a hit in the contest, led by a 3-for-3 game from Marybeth Stone who also drove in five runs and scored two more. Kaila Uyeda was additionally 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI during the opener of Friday's action while Nicole Swisher and Temma Levis both came through with a pair of hits.

Ashley Sisto and Nikki Kingsland set the table in the bottom of the first for Haverford before Abby Marquis singled home the first run. Stone followed that up with a two-run double before a sacrifice fly from Levis made it 4-0 after one inning.

Alfred got its only runs of the game on back-to-back home runs during the third, but the Fords answered right back in the bottom half of that inning. Levis continued to help her own cause with an RBI single while Emily Reinstadtler and Uyeda also drove in runs to make the score 7-3.

Haverford broke the game wide open with five runs on seven hits during the bottom of the fourth. Kingsland and Emma Souter set the table for that big inning ahead of Stone's three-run home run over the right centerfield fence. Her home run was the second of her spring trip and helped give her 17 RBI over the Fords' first 10 games. The Fords restarted the inning with singles from Swisher, Levis, and Reinstadtler to load the bases before Uyeda's third hit put the mercy rule into effect.

For good measure, Ashley Sisto added a sacrifice fly to the Fords' total ahead of Levis making it official by retiring the Alfred side in order during the top of the fifth. Levis capped the week with three straight wins in the circle and struck out three batters during her start on Friday.

Briana Quinn took the circle in the matchup with DeSales and dazzled for seven innings to help the Fords finish their week on a high note. Quinn pitched a complete game as she allowed just six hits and one run one over seven innings of work. That gave the Fords just enough time to push three runs across the plate during the top of the seventh before Quinn retired the Bulldogs in order during the bottom half of that inning.

Haverford staked itself to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Souter beat out an infield single and swiped second base before Marquis' two-out double brought her around to score. It took DeSales until the sixth inning to answer that early run as Quinn set down the first seven batters that she faced and allowed just one runner to reach scoring position up until the sixth. However, DeSales manufactured a run after an infield single to tie the game heading to the seventh.

Undeterred, Swisher started the seventh inning rally for the Fords as she singled and stole second to put herself in scoring position. Uyeda was hit by pitch for the second time to put two runners on before Sisto delivered the eventual game-winning run on an RBI single back through the middle. Kingsland followed that up with two insurance runs as she also singled into centerfield to make the score 4-1. Quinn dominated from that point as all three outs in the seventh went Souter's direction in the 4-1 final.
