Recap | Box Score

The Haverford College women's basketball team has won the last two Centennial Conference Championships as the program continues its extended period of unprecedented success.  It was during the 2013-14 season that the Fords first reached the pinnacle of the Centennial Conference as they defeated Johns Hopkins by a 66-56. That title came in head coach Bobbi Morgan's sixth year leading the Fords after they had not made the Centennial Conference Tournament prior to her arrival. Starting with the 2011-12 season, Haverford has not missed the Centennial Conference Tournament.

After finishing in first-place during the regular season, the Fords led for 36:28 of the 40 minute championship contest. All-American Nina Voith '14 led the team in scoring with 16 points while classmates Cara Wyant '14 and Rachel Baskin '14 added 15 and 12, respectively. The Fords led from the 16:28 mark of the first half on after Baskin's two free throws gave the squad a 6-5 early advantage. Although the game was a one-possession affair throughout the first 10 minutes, three straight layups from Jacquelyne Pizzuto '15, Wyant, and Baskin keyed a 6-0 run. That span eventually turned into a 17-2 stretch that saw the Fords go up by as many as 18 points. Johns Hopkins attempted a second half comeback but Haverford's vaunted defense held the Blue Jays to just 2-of-9 from beyond the arc during the second half. Haverford finished that season with a program-best 24-4 record as the Fords advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in their first appearance on the national stage.
