SCRANTON, Pa. - The Haverford College women's lacrosse team (2-1) was edged by No. 25 Scranton (4-0) on Saturday in a non-conference contest at Weiss Field on the Scranton campus. Rosnow found Hailey Morris for the first goal of the contest at 23:49, but Scranton unleashed a 3-0 run to take a two-goal cushion. Julia Manetta then found Gibbons for a goal to cut the lead to just one at 3-2, but Scranton ultimately pulled to a four-goal cushion at 7-3 with 7:55 left in the first half. Morris scored to trim that advantage back to three, and Rosnow later tallied in the final minute of the half as Haverford trailed by just two at 8-6 heading into the intermission.

In the second half, Scranton and the Fords traded goals in the early goings, before Rosnow converted a free-position strike and Manetta took a feed from Rosnow, with Haverford adding a short-handed goal to tie the score at 9-9 with 19:39 to go.

A 2-0 scoring run for the Royals gave the hosts a 12-10 advantage, but Haverford again had a 2-0 run to tie the score at 12-12, as Gibbons tallied with 9:01 to play in regulation.

Scranton pulled ahead with a goal from Christine Olert with 6:23 to play, and Haverford was forced to chase an equalizer in the final moments of the contest. With 1:16 to play, Scranton's Kate Calabro caused a turnover and scooped a ground ball. With the shot clock off, Haverford was forced to swarm Scranton in order to force a Royals mistake.
