Full IWLCA Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College women's lacrosse attacker Allie Gibbons has been selected to play in the 2019 North-South Division III Senior All-Star Game, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) has announced. Gibbons will play for the north team, whcih is coached by Courtney Shute of Tufts this season.

The annual collegiate All-Star Game will take place on Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks. Md. on Saturday, June 1. The Division III game is slated for a 11:30 a.m. start and will be live streamed via IWLCA-TV.com. Admission is free of charge.

Gibbons follows Alyssa Sherman '18, who participated in the game last season following an all-conference senior campaign. Gibbons is Haverford's 13th overall participant in the North-South All-Star contest and third in as many years as Sarina Manetta '17 also participated following her senior campaign.

The Baltimore, Md. native was named first-team All-Centennial, as she paced the team on the attack while serving as a captain. She started all 18 games for the Fords, logging 81 points and 69 goals, the second-most in program single-season history. Gibbons added multiple goals in each contest this season. Gibbons also tallied 21 caused turnovers, including 11 against conference competition. Against Christopher Newport in the season opener, Gibbons set a new program record with an 11-point outing in Haverford's 21-14 win.

Gibbons also matched the program's single-game goals record in that late February triumph over the Captains. She leaves the program fourth in career history in points (224) and goals (178) as she joined rarefied error as one of just seven players in Haverford history to rack up 200 points. Her goals per game tally (2.62) and points per game mark (3.29) are also in the top 10 in program career history. Gibbons was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large selection earlier this month, and was named an Ambler Scholar Athlete as one of the top 16 senior student-athletes in her class at Haverford.

In total, 132 student-athletes were selected to participate in the annual contests, including 44 players from Division III.
