Women's Soccer Earns CC Point in Scoreless Draw at Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team picked up a point in the Centennial Conference standings with a scoreless draw at Muhlenberg on Tuesday night. The Fords (8-2-2, 3-1-1 CC) now have 10 points through five conference games to rank third in the conference. Haverford's draw came despite holding a 14-6 edge in shots against the host Mules (4-5-2, 1-2-2 CC).

Haverford's defense limited Muhlenberg to just three shots in regulation time. The Fords have now recorded a shutout in eight of their 12 games this season. Kathy Prescott, who made five saves on six Muhlenberg shots, lowered her season GAA to a 0.32 mark in the draw. She now has seven solo shutouts and one combined effort this season.

The Fords racked up all 14 of their shots during the 90 minutes of regulation. Raina Fitzpatrick took a game-high four shots on the evening and put three of those attempts on goal. Her final two attempts came in the final 12 minutes of regulation as the Mules' Marissa D'Alessandro matched Prescott's five saves in the shutout effort. Her final save of the evening came in the 86th minute on a shot from Sydney West. Anna Dekle also had three shots on the night for the Fords.

Muhlenberg had its greatest threats of the game in the overtime session but was denied the game-winning goal on a pair of saves from Prescott. Her final save of the night was a diving stop in the 99th minute of game action.

Women's soccer will be back on the road this weekend as the Fords travel to Baltimore for a showdown with first-place Johns Hopkins. That conference match up with the No. 17 Blue Jays will get underway at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
