GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team recorded a critical 2-0 shutout win at Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon. Playing a rematch of last year's Centennial Conference Tournament game, the Fords (6-3-2, 3-1-1 CC) got goals from Hannah Krapes and Skyler Ellenburg to help them move firmly into fourth place in the Centennial Conference standings.

Haverford wasted little time getting on the board as Krapes scored her second goal of the season just 7:11 into the match. Her goal came when she headed in a free kick that was taken by Sydney West. Krapes is now the fourth player on Haverford with multiple goals this season as she tallied her second on Saturday. West was credited with her first of two assists on the game's opening goal.

In the second half, West set up Ellenburg on a one touch past the defense for Haverford's insurance goal during the 72nd minute of play. Ellenburg's goal was her first this season and fifth of her career. She became the 11th different Ford to score a goal this season. After her career-best two point outing with those two assists, West now has a team-leading four helpers on the season. She is the first player to record two assists in a game for Haverford since Raina Fitzpatrick (three assists) and Ellenburg (two assists) both accomplished that feat against Eastern in 2015.

Haverford definitely made the most of its chances on the offensive end, scoring on two of the team's four shots on goal. Julie Hanss was called on to make just one save in her sixth shutout of the season. Haverford held a 7-5 advantage in shots for the game with four attempts in the opening half and three during the final 45 minutes of action. Despite limiting the Bullets to just five shots, the Fords did have to successfully defend nine corner kick chances from the hosts.

Women's soccer will now return home to Walton Field for two more Centennial Conference matchups next week. On Wednesday, the Fords will host Washington College with that game scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m. Next Saturday, McDaniel will come to Walton Field for a 1 p.m. start.
