Centennial Conference release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Centennial Conference has announced Leanne Ludwick as its pick for Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Ludwick, who is leading the CC in goals (8), assists (5), points (21), and game-winning goals (3), earns the award for the first time in her career.

The Fords have won six straight matches overall and Ludwick has been front and center in those efforts as she has scored at least once during each of those victories. Over the past week, the Fords' senior captain scored once and assisted on two other goals during the 5-0 win against Immaculata before adding another goal (the game-winner) and an assist in the 3-0 victory versus Alvernia.

On the national level, Ludwick's three game-winning goals are the ninth-highest total in Division III. She is ranked 15th in Division III in total points, 19th in total assists, and 22nd in total goals. Ludwick is averaging exactly three points per contest, which is good for 17th in the national rankings. In the school rankings, Ludwick is 12th in career game-winning goals (6), 13th in career points (45), 14th in career goals (17), and 16th in career assists (11).

Haverford's offense has scored a total of 21 goals this season which ranks second in the Centennial Conference. With great teamwork as usual, the 17 assists off of those goals are the highest mark in the CC. The Fords' offense has been far from a one person show as the three top assist producers in the conference are all on Haverford while the team also has four of the top 15 point producers in the league.

Haverford's current winning streak marks the first time since 2009 that the Fords have won six straight contests. That streak is just one shy of the school record which has been accomplished on four other occasions. The Fords have gone 453:59 since conceding their last goal en route to recording a program-record five consecutive shutouts.

Wrapping up non-conference play with a 6-1 record, the Fords begin their Centennial Conference schedule this Wednesday at home against Muhlenberg at 4 p.m. After playing six of its first eight matches on Walton Field, the Fords will continue CC play this Saturday at Franklin & Marshall in a scheduled 3 p.m. start.
