Bronx, N.Y. – (August 20, 2020) – Fordham women's soccer head coach
Jessica Clinton announced the hiring of
Kathy Prescott as goalkeeper coach on Thursday.
"We are really excited to have Kathy join us this fall. I think our goalkeepers will grow and develop under Kathy's guidance. Her experience at the camp, youth and recent college levels will add to our program immediately," said Clinton. "She's worked with Soccer Plus Goalkeeping Camps and in 2018 became a director. She became the second woman to be a camp director. I like to think, that's what we are about; guiding, developing and modeling what strong women look like."
Prescott most recently spent one season at the University of Pennsylvania working primarily with the goalkeepers. With the tandem of Kitty Qu and Ashley Gabor, the Quakers posted a 0.97 goals against average and an .828 save percentage in 2019.
Prior to Penn, she served as an assistant coach at Bryn Mawr College for two seasons and had a brief stint as a goalkeeper coach at Colgate. In addition to her collegiate work, Prescott has served as a head coach and assistant coach at the Lower Merion Soccer Club in Pennsylvania.
On the field, Prescott played four seasons at Haverford College, including her final two as the full-time starter in net. She helped guide Haverford to two Centennial Conference tournaments in 2013 and 2016 and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2016. She earned Second Team All-Centennial honors in 2016, setting both the career and single season Haverford records for goals against average.
Prescott, a 2017 graduate of Haverford College with a degree in Economics, earned her Master's in Sports Business from Temple University in 2019.
"I'm really happy with how our staff has rounded out with Eleri joining in January and Kathy this past week. I think you'll see the immediate impact of what we can do when the team is back together," said Clinton.
