HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's soccer team (3-1-2, 0-0-1 CC) settled for a draw with visiting Dickinson (2-3-1, 0-0-1) in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams on Walton Field Saturday.

Dickinson scored its lone goal in the 18th minute, opening the scoring with Katie Vassilakos finding Lila Brown with a helper that Brown deftly converted for a 1-0 lead. The Fords had designs on immediately equalizing, and were able to do so on the very next shot as Keira Prince set up Liv McMillan with a beautifully placed ball, her second assist of the season. McMillan is now tied with Ashley Chun for the team lead in goals with three after the tally in the 19th minute of play.

Nora Gaby-Biegel had a pair of chances in the 30th and 34th minutes, and Brown put a header on frame just before the halftime intermission as the sides went into the break deadlocked at 1-1.

Kendall Ozorowski made a fantastic team save in the 51st minute, clearing a ball from Vassilakos off the back line to keep the game scoreless, and despite Dickinson peppering the cage with a flurry of shots, the Haverford defense held strong to keep the Red Devils off the scoreboard.

A strong chance from Grace Haskell in the 88th minute represented the last attempt for either side as the contest ended in a draw. The Fords held a slight 8-7 edge on shots, with Dickinson putting four on frame to three for the Fords. Dickinson earned four corners to just one for Haverford.

Claire Cywes made two saves for the Fords. Gaby-Biegel came off the bench and added two shots to pace Haverford. Vassilakos fired three total shots for the Red Devils, including two on frame. Sophia Kavulich made two saves between the pipes for the visitors.

Haveford will next return to action on Wednesday against Washington College (4 p.m.) as the homestand continues with another Centennial Conference contest on Walton Field.
